Different Types Of Shower Enclosures

Every person loves a great shower when he or she wakes up, after arriving home from a busy day at work or after doing some activities around the house. With most bathrooms having both the toilet and the shower, having a form of enclosure round the shower is beneficial for privacy purposes. One can find different types of shower enclosures that they can put in their bathrooms.

Shower enclosures may come in types of the various shapes that exist. You can have a square shower enclosure, rectangular enclosure, an oval one and a half circle one. The main difference between all the four is the shapes of the enclosures. If you do not have enough space, the best type would be the square one that can be easily fit in a corner.

Bi-fold enclosures are usually designed having a door panel that has two parts with a person being able to slide one part from one side to the other. Since they are basically operated by one part of the door sliding from one side to the other, they require very little space. You therefore do not need additional space in order to be able to open the door.

The other kind of enclosure is a quadrant enclosure. This shower enclosure usually has a front part that is curved. It is most suitable for a corner bathroom so that the curved part can run from one side of the wall to the other side. This type is most suitable for small bathrooms.

In cases where a bathroom cannot fit the standard quadrant, you can consider installing the offset enclosure. This enclosure is suitable for cases where one wall is long than the other wall. Therefore, the offset quadrant enclosure may have a straight edge that seems longer than the other one in order to take advantage of the longer wall.

A pivot enclosure is one of the most traditional designs of an enclosure. It usually has a pivot at the edge. The door therefore swings in order to open to allow someone to enter the bathroom. Since the door swings out in order to allow someone in, it is important that the bathroom have enough space to enable the door to open easily.

A sliding door enclosure is quite similar to the bi-fold enclosure. The main difference between the two is that the sliding door consists of a single panel that one can slide from one end to the other. Like the bi-fold enclosure, it is suitable for places that do not have enough bathroom space, as the door does not occupy any additional space during closing and opening of the door.

All the various types of shower enclosures are meant to meet a wide array of needs. One is therefore sure to find something that suits their bathroom and meets their needs. Before you can install any kind of shower enclosure, it is advisable to seek the advice of a contractor to know if the space in the bathroom is enough for the kind of enclosure, you want.
